Iron Man Amigurumi Pattern (Free)

Recently received a request for the amigurumi pattern of Iron Man that I made a few years back and I finally tidied the pattern and wrote it out nicely. Enjoy!

Materials:
Using fingering yarn with 2.5mm hook will produce an Iron Man of about 10.5cm/4.1in tall

All yarn threads are assumed to be of the same thickness.
Red yarn
Golden Yellow yarn
White Yarn
Black Embroidery Thread
Wire (Optional - for making posable limbs)
Stuffing

Abbreviations:
sc - single crochet
sc inc - single crochet increase
sc dec - single crochet decrease
ss - slip stitch
ch - chain stitch
dc - double crochet
dc inc - double crochet increase
Rnd - Round

Head & Body
With red yarn,
Rnd 1: 6sc into magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: sc inc x 6 times (12)
Rnd 3: (sc, sc inc) x 6 times (18)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, sc inc) x 6 times (24)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, sc inc) x 6 times (30)
Rnd 6: (4 sc, sc inc) x 6 times (36)
Rnd 7: (5 sc, sc inc) x 6 times (42)
Rnd 8: (6 sc, sc inc) x 6 times (48)
Rnd 9 - Rnd 15 (7 rnds): sc all around (48)
Rnd 16: (6 sc, sc dec) x 6 times (42)
Rnd 17: (5 sc, sc dec) x 6 times (36)
Rnd 18: (4 sc, sc dec) x 6 times (30)
Rnd 19: (3 sc, sc dec) x 6 times (24)

Fasten off and sew the hole close.


Mask

(Note: for the following rows, the stitch count does NOT include the ch stitch at the end and the ch stitch should be skipped when doing the next row)

Main Part of Mask
With golden yellow yarn,
Row 1: ch 7, turn (7)
Row 2: sc from 2nd stitch until the end, ch, turn (6)
Row 3: sc inc, 4 sc, sc inc, ch, turn (8)
Row 4: sc inc, 6 sc, sc inc, ch, turn (10)
Row 5: sc inc, 8 sc, sc inc, ch, turn (12)
Row 6: sc inc, 10 sc, sc inc, ch, turn (14)
Row 7: sc until the end, ch, turn (14)
Row 8: dc inc, dc, 3 ch, skip 3 stitches, 4 dc, 3 ch, skip 3 stitches, dc, dc inc, ch, turn (16)
Row 9: sc until the end (including the ch stitches), ch, turn (16)
Row 10: sc dec, 12 sc, sc dec, ch, turn (14)

(Note: From Row 11 onwards, we are doing the protruding part at the top of the mask, so we are not doing stitches for the whole row)

Row 11: sc dec, 2 sc, sc dec, ch, turn (4)
Row 12: sc until the end, ch, turn (4)
Row 13: sc dec x 2 times (2)

Fasten off.

Skip 2 stitches on Row 10 and repeat Row 11 to Row 13 to make the other side. Fasten off and leave a long length of yarn for sewing.

Eyes of Mask
With white yarn,
Row 1: ch 14, turn (14)
Row 2: sc from 2nd stitch until the end, ch, turn (13)
Row 3: sc until the end, ch, turn (13)
Row 4: sc until the end (13)

Fasten off

Assembly of Mask

Put the white piece of the mask over the holes of the yellow part and sew.





Hands (Make 2)
With red yarn,
Rnd 1: 6 sc into magic ring (6)
Rnd 2 - Rnd 4 (3 rnds): sc all around (6)
Change to golden yellow yarn
Rnd 5: (back loops only) sc all around (6)
Rnd 6: sc all around (6)

Fasten off and leave a length of yarn for sewing.

Attach red yarn to the front loop of Rnd 5 and sc all around (6)

Put stuffing in. If you are using wire to make the hands posable, stuff lightly.

Legs (Make 2)
With red yarn,
Rnd 1: 8sc into magic ring (8)
Rnd 2: sc all around (8)
Rnd 3: 2 sc, sc dec x 2 times, 2 sc (6)
Rnd 4: sc all around (6)
Change to golden yellow yarn
Rnd 5: (back loops only) sc all around (6)
Rnd 6: sc all around (6)

Fasten off and leave a length of yarn for sewing

Attach red yarn to the front loop of Rnd 5 and sc all around (6)

Put stuffing in. If you are using wire to make the legs posable, stuff lightly.


Arc Reactor
With white yarn,
Rnd 1: 5 sc into magic ring, ss to first stitch to close the circle (5)

Fasten off and leave a length of yarn for sewing

Assembly
Sew the mask to the head. With black embroidery thread, sew the mask details.

If you are using wire for the limbs, insert the wires into the body.



Sew the hands and legs to the body.

Sew the arc reactor to the chest.
