DeleteHi, need help after 13 - 16 rows for body overall.
ReplyDeleteTo count 12 stitches and start on the 13th stitch. Count from left or right? Are we creating 4 rows above the 4 rows with the same stitches again?
Please help as i am a begininer and i dont really know how to read instruction yet. Thank you!
Hi,
DeleteAfter row 16 you should get a blue rectangular piece (the overall "flap" at the front/ back part of the overall). You need to fastern off and cut the yarn after making this "flap" Then from 1 end of the bottom part of rectangular flap, count 12 stitches along the rounded "pants" part and start crocheting from the 13th stitch onwards. This should make another retangular "flap" thing that is directly opposite the first rectangular "flap" you have made.
Hope this is clear enough. Please feel free to ask again if I am not clear enough! :)
Hello,
DeleteI just realised there was a mistake with my pattern.. it should be count 9 stitches and start at the 10th stitch.. hope your minion turns out ok!
Hi do you have the pattern for the bigger minion in the background? Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi,
Deletethe minion is small because I was using lace yarn (1.25mm hook). If you use a thicker yarn the minion will be bigger. The bigger minion was made using fingering yarn (2.5mm hook).
The bigger minion was actually made using this older minion pattern: http://snacksieshandicraftcorner.blogspot.sg/2011/06/despicable-me-minion-crochet-pattern.html
This current pattern is a modified pattern from the old one because there were comments that the old pattern was confusing. I did not remove the old pattern because I was afraid that someone out there might be making a minion halfway using the old pattern.
Both patterns can create a minion :) Feel free to choose the one you are more comfortable with.
Hi, can you tell me where can i get cotton yarn in singapore? I can only get arcylic yarn in spotlight. Thanx.
ReplyDeleteHi,
Deleteyou can get cotton yarn at 2 places.
1 is golden dragon store at people's park centre, #02-51 http://www.goldendragon.com.sg/Contact.html
Another is elsie departmental store at ang mo kio http://www.streetdirectory.com/elsie-departmental-store/
the selection at golden dragon store is larger
Hi,
ReplyDeleteHaha, I did a liitle bit of maths and had changed it! My Minion was done and My 8 yrs old son Loved it!
I also had difficulty doing the arms esp the black glove. I am using arylic yarn and 5.0mm hook so it was kind of hard to do sth thin. Don't quite understand the glove part and and so I did a round one instead. I am making the second one with cotton yarn now. I hope that I will turn out better.
Thank You once again.
Do you also do needle tatting?
oh glad it turned out ok!
Deleteyup the glove part is slightly complicated as i was trying to make a "thumb".. it will look fine too without the "thumb"
you are welcome :)
Nope, i don't do needle tatting

ReplyDeleteWhat is the height of the of the Minions? I am using #10 crochet thread and was wondering about the outcome...I'm hoping for a height of about 2 1/2 inches...
